Upcoming Programs: Summer Reading Club Fun

We’ve had a very active summer at the library with our TD Summer Reading Club, and it’s not over yet. We have three upcoming events that you don’t want to miss.

All the wonderful art we’ve used this summer is courtesy of TD, and was created by the talented illustrator Dušan Petričić.

First up, Imagination in Action! (August 2, 4 pm)
At this workshop, interested creative writers, aged 10 to 14, get to learn techniques to stimulate their imaginative minds. Whatever the style of writing, there is something in this workshop for everyone. Call the Children’s Desk (514-485-6900 ext 4111) to register.

Next, we have our Sunday WOW: Wizard Trivia! (August 5, 2pm)
Our Summer Reading Club has been all about Imagination, and this Sunday program will have kids (ages 7 to 12) doing all sorts of fun wizard-related activities. In teams or individually, participants will solve puzzles, answer some trivia questions (with the help of books, of course), and complete challenges. At the end, Wizard Certificates for all! Call the Children’s Desk to register (514-485-6900 ext. 4111)

And finally, as the Summer Reading Club draws to a close, we’ll have our Summer Reading Club Closing Party! (August 19, 2 pm)
At this fun afternoon party, we’ll have games, crafts and, of course, the summer prizes. This event is for those who have registered for the Summer Reading Club, so make sure that you hand in your reading logs by August 17 to be eligible for the reading prizes. While this event is open to all SRC participants, we ask that you confirm your presence (514-485-6900 ext, 4111).

That’s it for now, but our program brochure for the Fall and Winter programs (September to March) will be out shortly.
