Book Review: The River by Mary Jane Beaufrand

I just finished reading a great book called : The River by Mary Jane Beaufrand.  The story is about a girl, Veronica, who has moved to the country after her father’s mini-breakdown.  She is not too pleased with the move and has only her running to keep her on track.  Sadly on one of her runs she finds the body of one of the girls she babysits.  She decides to investigate Karen’s death by herself and find out many shocking things about her community.

What did I think?
I really like it.  I found the story compelling and well written.  At no point did I get bored by description which can happen and was very satisfied with the character development throughout.  I would recommend this book to those who enjoy mysteries or just a good story.
